“The Sterling Foundation is a nonprofit entity founded for the purpose
of advancing plant science in the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder and other
addiction related disorders. The Sterling Foundation will operate a residential
treatment facility utilizing plant-science pharmacology to replace traditional
drugs in the treatment and rehabilitation process.”
The Sterling Foundation is named in honor of Sterling Raymond Grant III, the most interesting man in the world — a talented film director, editor and actor, an overachiever in every sport he ever tried, including surfing, skiing, skateboarding, snow boarding and bicycling, and a gifted painter, artist and musician. There was nothing he couldn't do -- even plumbing, electrical, construction and car repairs. But Sterling's biggest gift was his love for others. He was truly a person who loved others, helped them and listened to their stories. Sterling was the sunshine in the lives of hundreds of people he knew. His sense of humor and sincere smile made him sparkle!
Sterling passed on October 14th, 2013 due to an accidental overdose of prescribed opioids combined with alcohol.
The Sterling Foundation is a legacy organization founded by his widow and friends meant to continue to generate goodness
and kindness in his name and spirit and to help as best we can to make the world a better place and to save as many souls
from the devastation of loss that regularly accompanies drug addiction.
